Gas Engineer Edinburgh, Commercial, £40,000  – £46,000, Permanent 

We are recruiting a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer in Edinburgh to join a growing Facilities Management division, delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a portfolio of commercial sites. This is a mobile role suited to an engineer who takes pride in safety, quality workmanship, and reliable service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems and boilers

  • Install, test, commission, and certify gas appliances and associated pipework

  • Diagnose faults efficiently and complete repairs to a high standard

  • Undertake basic electrical fault finding and work with control panels/BMS where required

  • Ensure full compliance with Gas Safe regulations, British Standards, and site procedures

  • Complete all documentation including gas safety certificates, job sheets, and reports

  • Liaise professionally with clients, site teams, and supervisors

  • Support apprentices and junior engineers when required

Requirements

  • Current Gas Safe registration (essential)

  • Proven experience in facilities management, building services, or commercial maintenance

  • Strong fault-finding skills with gas systems and boilers

  • Basic electrical knowledge; 18th Edition preferred

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Comfortable working at height (IPAF/PASMA desirable)

  • Flexible to participate in overtime and out-of-hours call-out rota
