A market-leading engineering company based in Glasgow is offering an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Estimator to join its expanding commercial team. This position is ideal for a recent graduate looking to build a long-term career within the façade and glazing sector. You will gain hands-on experience working on live projects across a variety of sectors, developing both your technical design expertise and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Produce detailed façade and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD
  • Develop technical details for curtain walling, window systems, glazing, and door hardware
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to create coordinated solutions
  • Apply façade principles including glazing specification, structural loading, thermal performance, weatherproofing, and drainage
  • Ensure designs are practical and aligned with workshop capabilities
  • Review tender documentation to determine project scope and requirements
  • Prepare cost estimates and complete material take-offs
  • Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Identify risks and value engineering opportunities
  • Submit tender documentation within required deadlines and assist with project handover upon award

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree qualified (Engineering, Construction, or related discipline preferred)
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Strong interest in façade systems (steel or aluminium)
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial awareness
  • Proficient in Excel; estimating software knowledge advantageous
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
